Since graduating from the University of Sydney in 2001, Katarina has almost 20 years of postgraduate experience working as a physiotherapist.
Prior to establishing Stride Ahead Physiotherapy, Katarina has worked in a variety of inpatient and community settings during her career. Positions held include predominantly rehabilitation roles within large teaching hospitals such as the Royal Rehabilitation Centre in Sydney, St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney and the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service.
For over 9 years, Katarina was a Senior Physiotherapist in the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service at the Royal Rehabilitation Centre in Sydney, where she developed a special interest in neurological rehabilitation. Having witnessed the incredible effects that neuroplasticity can have after neurological injury, Katarina loves helping each client to maximise their potential through functional retraining.
It is Katarina’s strength and passion to improve the lives of individual’s affected by life-changing conditions. She works with adults with a wide range of diagnoses and disabilities, to enable them to live at home as independently and safely as possible.
Katarina’s approach is evidence-based and involves empowering each person to understand the nature of their condition and how they can affect their rehabilitation outcome. Client education features prominently, encouraging individuals to take ownership over their journey and learn how to manage their condition.
To stay on-top of the latest evidence, Katarina undertakes post-graduate learning in the field of neurology and is an active member of the National Neurology Group of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
When not working, Katarina enjoys spending time outdoors with her family taking-in the Gold Coast beaches, bush and waterways.
