How can we help you?

  • Retraining functional movement

This means re-educating the way you move to make it easier, more efficient and maximise your independence. The aim is to encourage high quality movement patterns and minimise compensatory ones where possible.

This applies to everyday movements such as moving in bed, standing up, walking, stairs and using your arms. We can also assist you in work related tasks, sporting interests and hobbies.

  • Increase mobility at home or in your community

This can include moving around within your home or community. You may wish to explore whether a walking aid is suitable for you. Your goals may also include mobilising faster, longer or improving your walking pattern. We can even explore return to running and return to sport.

  • Providing an exercise program

Regular activity and exercise is a vital tool to help manage your well-being. We will establish what format suits you and your lifestyle best and tailor a program that addresses your needs.

Your exercise program may be home-based, outdoors, at your local gym or in a pool.

If required, carer training can be provided regarding how to safely and effectively assist you to carry out your program.

  • Equipment prescription

Receive support to trial equipment such as a gait aid, wheelchair or other assistive devices and have it prescribed for you. We will look at what is the right fit to support you and enhance your quality of life.

  • Family and carer training

A critical part of your rehabilitation is teaching your family or carer how they can support you with daily tasks, community access or with your exercise program. This is important to prevent injury to their bodies as well as yours. We will work closely with you and your family so that you can get the most out of your life and perform to the best of your abilities.

  • Education

Part of your rehabilitation is understanding your condition and how you manage it. Your therapy will include education on your condition, allowing for realistic expectations and to assist managing your condition into the future.

Rehabilitation Physiotherapy

‘The best view comes after the hardest climb’

A rehabilitation journey can feel like climbing a mountain.

Whether you are standing at the base of your mountain, half-way up or almost at the peak, physiotherapy can assist you to get there within your specific life context.

Intervention will begin with a full assessment, clarifying your goals and concerns, identifying opportunities for rehabilitation, and offering treatment options that work for you and your life routine.

Your rehabilitation program will be tailored to you and be regularly reviewed and modified as your condition or needs change.

Communication with other members of your support network will be open and collaborative. Your goals are always at the centre of the rehabilitation process and what guides our plan.
